Burban was completed on return from AZAM’s Saiful Malook project in Pakistan: the abstract motifs are informed by Azam’s physical and psychological response to lake Saiful Malook’s desolate environment. The work is a continuation of the artist’s extended meditation on the expressive interpretation of the human form.

 

Burban was included in the Saiful Malook solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2019.
