The Darker Protection

The Darker Protection was completed on return from AZAM’s Saiful Malook project in Pakistan: the abstract motifs are informed by Azam’s physical and psychological reaction to lake Saiful Malook’s desolate environment. The work is a unique response to the exclusive opportunity visit and experience the lake look at night time; due to the political tensions and strict security protocols, such permission had never been allowed before.
 

The Darker Protection was included in the Saiful Malook solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2019.
