 Lake Self Portrait

Lake Self Portrait was one of the first monumental paintings completed by Azam after his ANTARCTICA project. The work captures the harsh realities of a voyager faced with a hostile, inhospitable environment. Azam portrayed a human form purveying over the stark, abstract ice landscape.

Lake Self Portrait is being exhibited for the first time.

Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith was influenced by the icy landscapes Azam visited during his ANTARCTICA project. The work marks the artist’s transformative journey from the busy life in global capital markets to the contemplative creative process taking place in his studio.

Leap of Faith was included in the Saiful Malook solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2019.

Patintop

Patinop is a study executed prior to Azam's Saiful Malook project. It captures the anticipation to reach the inaccessible landscapes and witness the beauty of the unknown prior to his trip.

Patinop is being exhibited for the first time.

Full Moon For The Princess

Azam completed Full Moon for The Princess on return from his visit to lake Saiful Malook, in response to the haunting beauty of the location at night-time and associations with the sublime poem written by the Sufi saint Mian Mohammed Bakhsh.

Full Moon for The Princess was included in the Saiful Malook solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2019.
