Night Lake

Night Lake was completed on return from AZAM’s Saiful Malook project in Pakistan: the abstract motifs are informed by Azam’s physical and psychological response to lake Saiful Malook’s desolate environment. The work depicts the exclusive opportunity to visit and experience the lake look at night time; due to the political tensions and strict security protocols, such permission had never been allowed before.
 

Night Lake was included in the Saiful Malook solo exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2019.
